ohh Children...

Shane and Macy are two of my favorite kids.
on earth.
i got to babysit them last week and boy was it funny.
let me share with you a few dialogues from the night:

(talking with them about their long lost friends coming to visit over the weekend)

Me: You guys must be so excited that the Lenze's are coming!
S: Well ya, excited but nervous.
Me: Nervous? what are you nervous about?
S: Well, I'm nervous that she's changed (speaking of his future wife...in like 15 years)
Me: (knowing very well who the she was that he was talking about but having to ask anyways...just for a laugh) Who's she?
S: Well Tori. I'm worried that she's changed. Cause i don't think that i've changed, but what if she has changed?
Me: Well, that's understandable. I see why you'd be worried about that.

(next, Macy adds in her concerns...)

M: Well I'm nervous too.
Me: ohh ya? well what are you nervous about??
M: I'm nervous that Evie's changed. And she's probably nervous that i've changed too. and i think i have. i think i have more manners. even though i don't know what manners are.

(i laugh, a whole bunch)

Me: Oh, manners! Shane, do you think you can explain what manners are to your sister?

(and we begin to talk about farting at the dinner table and how that wouldn't be having the greatest manners)

what a riot!

And another funny conversation... this time about strawberry shortcake.
(talking to Macy)

Me: ohh man! i should have brought my strawberries and other ingredients to make strawberry shortcake for us for dessert.
M: ya you should have! you should have us over sometime for strawberry shortcake.
Me: (with a little chuckle) oh ya? i should? i think that's a great idea!
M: ya, you should. you should write it in your book.

apparently i should have written it in my agenda book/planner. how stinkin funny.

and that's a glimpse of the fun times i have with them. they make me smile. and laugh.

as i speak i am watching the proposal with Mar, Chels n Rach. n cracking up!

one more final comment from a student in my 3rd grade class.
(talking about being Christian)

he says: i think i'm christian. (thinks about it for a few seconds) ya, i'm probably christian.

how funny.

leaving for Atlanta tomorrow.

Chels is making seagull sound effects as i speak.

yours truly,
va
