Heart, Soul, Strength

Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone.
And you must love the Lord your God with
all your heart,
all your soul,
and all your strength.

For the Lord your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords.

He is the great God, the mighty and awesome God, who shows no partiality and cannot be bribed.
He ensures that orphans and widows receive justice.
He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing.
So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.
You must fear the Lord your God and worship him and cling to him.
Your oaths must be in his name alone.
He alone is your God, the only one who is worthy of your praise.

  1. VIRGINIA! You have had a blog for a year now and never told me!?!?!?! What is up with that?

Well....it is absolutely beautiful and I LOVED reading a few of your posts and getting to know you better.

Adding you to my blogroll now, friend!

Thanks for your thoughts about Buddy and us. We miss him.

  2. Melanie, I'm sorry! Part of that is because i don't blog as often as i'd like...as in- almost never! every so often i guess. and then the other part is my silly insecurities because i've never considered myself a writer. BUT that is ok. i know i can just write and be me here and i don't have to impress anyone. it's just that some blogs i truly love reading because they are so well written (yours being one of them). i actually got into blogging [especially following blogs] during the time i gave up facebook. i think i just transferred all my facebook time to reading people's blogs which in a way defeated my whole purpose of getting rid of it. but now i think i'm at a healthier balance! ha..it can definitely be addicting.

but i'm glad we are "friends/followers" on here now :)
